A Floyd County man has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of his mother over the weekend on Larkspur Lane.
According to Floyd County Jail Reports, 28-year-old George Anthony Headen was charged on Monday evening with felony murder aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and aggravated battery.
The victim, Sheila Williams, was found dead in the residence at 303 Larkspur Lane around 6:50pm Saturday.
Headen was originally arrested Saturday night on charges of aggravated assault and giving a false name, address or date of birth to law enforcement after he allegedly physically assaulted the victim while trying to take his car in Shorter Avenue.
Headen is believed to be the only suspect in the homicide investigation on Larkspur Lane.
