Cherokee County Fire Departments Band Together to Collect Toys for Children in Need

xmas-toys-2Each and every child deserves a Merry Christmas, however in many homes children feel left out because Santa didn’t make a stop there.

It’s sad, but tragically it’s the truth.

With the ever-increasing costs of simply feeding, clothing, and caring for children, including  keeping a roof over everyone’s head – purchasing toys simply may not be in the picture.

This year, the men and women of Cherokee County’s fire departments are banding together to make this the Merriest Christmas ever, for as many kids as possible in Cherokee County – and they need your help.

santa-1New unwrapped toys may be dropped off at Walmart in Centre; Fred’s; local Dollar General Stores; Brad’s One Stop, located at Watson’s Crossroads; the Rock at Sand Rock; the fire hall of every Fire Department and at Town Hall locations across the county.

All donations will remain local and will be distributed to Cherokee County Children.

The Christmas for Children in Cherokee County program, helps those families not receiving assistance from another program.  They focus on providing assistance to the families of the working poor, adult children with intellectual disabilities and grandparents that are raising children.

Appointments will be required to evaluate eligibility prior to distribution.  Applications will be accepted through December 10th.
