Centre Woman Indicted by Grand Jury on a Manslaughter Charge / UPDATED

According to information posted on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website – a 20 year old Centre woman has been indicted by a grand jury on a Manslaughter charge.

Rebecca Lynn Price was arrested on that indictment shortly before 4:00pm Wednesday and after meeting her $50,000 bond, was released approximately an hour later.

Price was arrested in connection with an auto accident, occurring November 12th last year, (2015) which claimed the life of 25 year old Lani Michelle Wilkerson-Hall, also of Centre.

According to reports the wreck took place at 5:29am when Hall’s vehicle, a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, was involved in a head-on collision with a 2004 Jeep Liberty being driven by Price.

Hall was pronounced dead at the scene, and a two year old child in her vehicle was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment; Price was also transported to Floyd where she was treated and released that same day, according to a hospital spokesperson.

That crash occurred on Highway 411, approximately one mile south of the Georgia line.

A trial date has yet to be set.
