Starbucks(NEW YORK) — Starbucks customers will begin getting an extra shot of holiday cheer when they order their beverages on Thursday.
The Seattle-based coffee chain is unveiling its annual red cups in time for the holiday season.
“We hope that this year’s red holiday cup designs express the shared spirit of the holidays as told by our customers,” Starbucks global chief marketing officer Sharon Rothstein said in a statement Wednesday.
The new cups will feature candy canes, reindeer, Christmas lights, ornaments, trees and snowflakes against a red background. The designs — 13 in all — were created by customers from six countries.
Last year, Starbucks faced criticism for its red cups, which were devoid of any design, sparking some to think they were a “war on Christmas.”
