No Children Aboard During Accident Involving Cherokee County School Bus / UPDATED

One person was hurt Thursday morning in a two-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a Cherokee County school bus.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the wreck took place at 6:45am on Alabama 176 in the Mt. Vernon community. 

Fortunately, there were no children on the bus at the time, and the bus driver was only shaken up.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 2015 Ford, was identified as 44 year old April Rainey of Ft Payne; she was reportedly taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
