'Heartbroken' Mom Has Emotional Chance Meeting With Hillary Clinton During Hike in New York

(CHAPPAQUA, N.Y.) — Sometimes what you need is a breath of fresh air, and that appears to be exactly what Hillary Clinton was looking for on Thursday.

On the same day that President-elect Donald Trump was welcomed to the White House and met with President Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton along with their two dogs, were spotted hiking a trail near their home in Chappaqua, New York, by Clinton supporter Margot Gerster.

“I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking [my daughter] Phoebe with me to vote for her,” wrote Gerster, who said she was feeling “heartbroken” herself following the election’s result, in a post on Facebook.

Clinton has often said that her favorite thing to do to unwind is to take long hikes with Bill and her dogs, Maisie and Tally.

It was the first sighting of the Clintons since her speech on Wednesday in which she formally conceded the race to Trump.
