iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — The final jobs report before Americans go to the polls to choose their new president came in slightly below analysts’ expectations.
The U.S. economy created 161,000 jobs in October, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday.
The unemployment rate fell slightly to 4.9 percent.
Jobs last month were created in health care, professional and business services, and financial activities.
In October, average hourly earnings for all employees on private non-farm payrolls rose by 10 cents to $25.92.
