ABC/Randy Holmes(LOS ANGELES) — Michael Pena, who went to war with Brad Pitt in the WWII drama Fury, is going back into battle with the post-9/11 film Horse Soldiers, Deadline reports.
The movie, which is based on the book Horse Soldiers: The Extraordinary Story of a Band of U.S. Soldiers Who Rode to Victory in Afghanistan, follows a group of U.S. Special Forces soldiers who literally charged into the fight alongside Al Qeada resistance fighters in the weeks after the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.
The rag-tag band of troops rallied allies and helped bring the might of American aistrikes down on the Osama bin Laden-led group in the unforgiving mountainous battlefield.
Pena, incidentally, will be saddling up with his fellow Marvel movie star Chris Hemsworth; Pena stole scenes — and one super-suit — as a motor-mouthed thief in Ant-Man; Hemsworth is perhaps most famous for playing Thor.
