Former Cherokee County Sports Standouts Scheduled to Be in Rome on Saturday

A couple of former area multi-sport standouts will be in Rome this Saturday (November 5th) when the Birmingham Southern Panthers close out their 2016 football season versus the Berry Vikings.

Gaylesville’s Cole Murphy and Cedar Bluff’s Jake Mintz will make the trip to Berry’s Valhalla Stadium.

Murphy, a 5’11”, 190 lb., Junior leads the Panthers in total tackles with 61.  Murphy’s 43 solo stops rank the junior 5th overall in the Southern Athletic Association.

Mintz is a 6’3″ 232 pound sophomore.

Kickoff is set for 2:00pm (C.S.T.) at Berry’s Valhalla Stadium.
