Son of Floyd County EMA Director Dies Under “Suspicious” Circumstances

The investigation into the fatal shooting of a resident of Rome, Georgia over the weekend, is ongoing.  Deputy Floyd County Coroner Gene Procter, was dispatched to a home on Rosalyn Drive in response to a report of a person lying in the driveway.

Procter said Terrance Herrington was pronounced dead at 3:00am Sunday as the result of a single gunshot wound to the head; the death has been ruled suspicious.

Herrington, a Bartow County firefighter is reportedly the son of Floyd County EMA Director Tim Herrington.

According to Floyd County Police, no additional information is being released at this time.
