An auto accident occurring last Saturday (October 8th), on County Road 29, in the Rock Run community led to the arrest of a man on drug charges.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated Corporal Nick Vaughn and Deputy Sheldon Estes responded to a report of an accident at the location, and upon arrival they noticed someone involved in the wreck appearing to hide something in the woods along the roadside.
Deputies searched the area and found synthetic marijuana, also known as “Spice”.
When confronted, the man, later identified as 25 year old Jahmadd Q. Hill, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly caught by Deputy Estes.
Hill was taken into custody, and charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Attempting to Elude.
He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center to await setting of bond.
