New information has come forth regarding the death of a Model High School student, struck and killed by a car over the weekend. According to the report by the Coosa Valley News, 16 year old Kobe Thomas was apparently playing some type of game where he was attempting to jump over a moving car, when he was hit and fatally injured.
The driver of the car that hit Thomas, was reportedly a 15 year old; that incident took place on Friday night near Burt Road in Floyd County, Georgia;
Thomas was pronounced dead at 4:04am Sunday as the result of traumatic brain injury.
According to other teenagers at the scene, the victim stepped in front of the moving car and there was simply no way the driver could’ve avoided the collision.
Floyd County Police say additional interviews with witnesses will be taking place – and that talks with the Floyd County District Attorney’s Office are on-going, in an effort to determine if any charges will be filed in connection with the case.
