A mobile home was completely destroyed by fire on County Road 231 in Sand Rock on Friday afternoon. The Sand Rock, Tuckers Chapel and Leesburg Fire Departments were dispatched just after 4:00 p.m.
The fire quickly spread to a near-by wooded area however firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread. Cherokee County Fire/Arson Investigator Shawn Rogers was called to the scene. At this time it is not known what started the fire.
