The driver of the vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run incident taking place in Gadsden on August 16th has now reportedly come forward. Investigators say the unidentified man had contacted police on Wednesday of this week (August 24th) in order to give a statement.
The body of 55 year old Gadsden resident Lisa Hicks, was discovered around 2:00am on the 17th, near the intersection of Halsey Street and Ewing Avenue.
It’s believed she was hit and killed by a vehicle several hours earlier at about 9:30 the night before.
At this point, investigators are only identifying the man as a “local resident.”
Damage to the man’s vehicle is consistent with what authorities believed they would find.
All evidence is being turned over to the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office to study in preparation for making a final decision on whether any charges will be filed.
