Two Arrested After Being Caught Riding Stolen ATV Monday Morning

ATV 102

What began as a joyride on an ATV, turned into a ride in a patrol car for two people Monday morning in Cherokee County.

Deputies responded to a report of two suspicious individuals on an all-terrain vehicle at the edge of County Road 20, just west of Garrett’s Bridge; as the officers approached the couple, they started the ATV and tried to flee but were quickly stopped.

It was soon learned that the ATV had been stolen out of Hokes Bluff.

Darrell Scott Firestone, age 33 of Ragland, and 32 year old Coley Lashea Reaves of Gadsden, were taken into custody at the scene, and were charged with Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree, and Attempting to Elude.  Reaves also had outstanding warrants.

Both subjects were then transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – where they remain, awaiting setting of bond.
