Two men were arrested on Monday, for violating the Sex Offender Registration Notification Act in Cherokee County.
According to information posted on the website of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office – 49 year old Aaron Thomas Studdard was booked into jail on the charge shortly before 3:00pm.
He is required to register as a sex offender due to a charge of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree.
27 year old Joseph Daniel Law was booked in at the Detention Center on a SORNA violation just before 1:00pm Monday, and he was additionally charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and for Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree in addition to a count of Tampering with Physical Evidence.
He is required to register as a sex offender due to a charge of Second Degree Rape.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver told WEIS Radio News, he commends Investigator Michael Greene for the outstanding job he’s doing, overseeing those required to adhere to sex offender registration guidelines in the county.
Greene handles the paperwork associated with each case and diligently works to make sure that each individual stays in compliance.
