Talk about an “Outta this world” way to “Beat the heat” – Mars Shaved Ice has more than 90 choices to help cool you down on the hottest summer day.

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce recently conducted the official Ribbon-Cutting ceremony for the business at 1100 West Main Street in Centre – and WEIS Radio spoke with the owners afterwards.

Harley Lamar Tosh and wife Evelyn Tosh first opened the doors May 27th and the summer heat, and business, has seen a steady increase from that day on; Harley expressed to us that the emphasis at Mars Shaved Ice is on quality, cleanliness and service as well as pride in the product.

Evelyn wishes to thank all their family members and friends, who have pitched in tirelessly, helping to run errands and even pulling shifts after working all day at their regular jobs.

The couple also told us where the name came from and, surprisingly, it didn’t start with the outer space idea – it started with a name:

Mars Shaved Ice is open seven days a week: 11:00am – 9:00pm each Sunday – Thursday and 11:00 – 11:00am Fridays and Saturdays.

In addition to Shaved Ice, they serve a variety of items, including cotton candy, hot dogs, dill pickles, popcorn, nachos and more and expansion plans are already underway with a brand new location coming soon.
