Sheriff’s Office Teams Up With the Alabama Department of Conservation

According to information contained in a News Release from Sheriff Jeff Shaver, on Saturday, (July 16th) Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office personnel teamed up with several officers with the Alabama Department of Conservation to promote safety on Terrapin Creek.

Game Wardens issued several warnings and citations, to kayakers on the creek, for littering and not having life preservers as required by state law.

During the detail, two individuals were arrested for underage drinking.

Sheriff Shaver stated that joint efforts such as this, are important to keep Terrapin Creek as clean and safe as it should be for individuals, families and groups looking for fun recreation.
