Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver

An official press release regarding a Monday night stabbing incident has now been released by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

WEIS Radio News earlier reported that sometime that night one person was reportedly air-lifted for treatment, after suffering stab wounds during an altercation at a residence located on Highway 114 in the Gaylesville area.

No names were given in that press release which simply stated that upon responding to the scene, Deputy Tyler Perea encountered two men with injuries requiring medical attention.

The man who had received stab wounds was air-lifted to Erlanger Medical Center while the second individual, who had head injuries, was treated and released from a local hospital.

The Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation into the matter, and at this point, no charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
