Cedar Bluff Police and Firefighters responded to a one vehicle accident on Highway 9 near the intersection with Westbrook Street just before 7:00pm Thursday.

The driver of the car luckily escaped injury after running off of Highway 9 went through the yard of a residence and struck a tree head on; both air bags deployed in the crash.

According to the accident report, the driver told officers that he simply fell asleep.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
