State Troopers Work Two Fatal Accidents in DeKalb County Sunday

Alabama State Troopers responded to two automobile accidents, each involving a fatality in DeKalb County on Sunday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident reports the first accident took place on I-59 approximately three miles north of Ft Payne at 9:00am – involving a 2014 Kia, being driven by 59 year old Mike Stiefel of Rossville, Georgia and a 2002 Hyundai.

Stiefel was unhurt however three people in the Hyundai were injured and one person killed – the names are still being withheld.

That second accident involved a motorcycle and a Mack truck, occurring around 2:00pm on Highway 75 roughly eight miles north of Ider.

The driver of the truck was listed as Marvin Perry from Kingston Georgia.  The driver of the 2005 Honda motorcycle, 67 year old Daniel Walton of a Henagar address, was injured while his passenger, 67 year old Pam Walton, was fatally injured.

Both accidents remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
