BREAKING NEWS| Murder Suspect Aaron Rochester Found Dead At The Cherokee County Detention Center

RochesterA Cedar Bluff man charged with Capital Murder was found dead in his cell at the Cherokee County Detention on Sunday. EMS was dispatched to the jail at approximately 4:20 p.m.

According to Chief Investigator Josh Summerford, 50 year old Aaron Rochester was pronounced dead by Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton following what is being investigated as an apparent suicide.

Rochester was arrested last Friday and charged with Arson 1st degree and Assault with those charges later being upgraded to Capital Murder in connection with the homicide of 50 year old Cedar Bluff resident Donna Marable.

Rochester’s body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy. 

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said that the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the investigation, and the case will also be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office.
