One person was injured in a two car crash on the Chestnut Bypass in Centre early Saturday afternoon near the Happy China Restaurant.

Centre Police and Firefighters, Cherokee EMS, the Rescue Squad and Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the scene at around 1:00 p.m.

Initially a medical air transport helicopter was called to the scene but was cancelled while in flight. That portion of the Bypass was shut down for a brief period of time as crews worked to remove the vehicle and clear debris from the roadway.
