A simple traffic stop in Heflin, resulted in the seizure of more than forty pounds of pot, over the weekend.
The Heflin PD K-9 Officer pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation and while talking with the driver noticed the man seemed extremely nervous; it was also determined that the man had given officers a false name.

The driver gave consent for a search of the vehicle and officers quickly discovered two bags containing roughly 43 pounds of marijuana.
The names of the two men arrested have yet-to-be released.
They strand charged with Trafficking Marijuana Receiving Stolen Property, Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice.
