A female fugitive wanted in multiple Georgia counties was arrested in the Broomtown area by Cherokee County investigators.
On Tuesday, Investigator Brent Snead and Chief Investigator Josh Summerford went to a residence on County Road 96 and found the woman hiding under a bed. They also found methamphetamine in the house.
The woman gave a false identity, but unfortunately for her, there were also warrants for the person whose name she used.
The true identity of the suspect is 44 year-old Shellie Thompson Yarbrough, who is wanted in Cherokee County for forgery and burglary and forgery in Georgia.
In addition to the warrants, she was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.
The suspect’s husband, Anthony Miles Yarbrough, 44, was also arrested taken into custody on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and hindering prosecution. Both were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
