Hokes Bluff Man Arrested on Burglary and Other Charges

Sprayberry 2

Kenneth Grover Sprayberry of Hokes Buff, more than likely doesn’t list “burglar”, anywhere on his resume; after all most of us don’t bring attention to the things we’re not that good at.

Sprayberry is currently jailed in neighboring Etowah County on the charges of Burglary 3rd Degree, Unlawful Breaking & Entering of a Motor Vehicle, 4th Degree Theft of Property and with one count of Cruelty to Animals.  According to information contained in a news release issued by Sheriff Todd Entrekin, the 33 year old Sprayberry allegedly broke into a home on Haney Road in the Ball Play community.

He stands accused of then vandalizing the residence, and killing the homeowner’s cat, when he knocked over a large piece of furniture.  Furthermore he made himself at home by eating food and drinking juice from the refrigerator.  At some point he went back outside and tried to break into a truck belonging to the homeowner.

Sprayberry was eventually found, by the homeowner – standing on the front porch – not yet having mastered the art of “getting away”.

Deputies quickly arrived and offered to put him up for awhile in the County Jail – where his bond has been set at $8,000.
