“Deputy Lyle” From the A&E Hit Show “Beyond Scared Straight” Passes Away

Deputy Lyle 1A high-profile law enforcement figure has passed away.

Floyd County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jonathan Lyle, was pronounced dead at his residence, late last week.

On Thursday, Lyle was found unresponsive, and later pronounced dead, by Deputy Coroner Gene Procter.

Lyle appeared on the A&E television show “Beyond Scared Straight” back in 2013 when the network filmed two episodes at the Floyd County Jail; Lyle became one of that show’s most recognized faces following his sometimes “over the top”, and “outrageous” efforts to get the attention of the teens in that program, in order to impress upon them the need to turn their lives around.

Sheriff Tim Burkhalter stated that his office is deeply saddened by the loss of a good deputy and a good friend.

No additional information is being released at this time.
