A Cherokee County man was injured in a motorcycle accident, in neighboring Floyd County, Georgia over the weekend. Accident reports show that 64 year old Thomas Laney of Centre was traveling eastbound on Shorter Avenue, near Huffacre Road, when he hit a vehicle that had stopped for a funeral procession.
Laney told police he saw the 2008 GMC Acadia but was simply unable to stop in time.
He was taken to Floyd Medical Center, where he was reportedly treated for injuries to a leg, and to his ribs.
