Peggy Joyce Shropshire Lee, 69 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, April 13th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 4:PM Saturday, April 16th at Cherokee Memory Gardens with Rev. Dan Hale officiating; The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Willie V. Lee; daughter, Pamela (Mark) Sidwell, Beverly (David) Akin, Sharon Slayton Quinn (Chris Dance); 10 Grandchildren, Mackenzie & Morgan Sidwell, Kyle, Cody & Kayla Jordan, David, Jr .& Kenny Akin, Jalen, Kaylen &Caden Quinn; 11 Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Kloei, Conner, Brooklyn, Skye, Saw Jordan, Jasmine & Kaelyn Akin, Rylan Davis, Bryce Bedwell.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Milburn Slayton, Jr. and brother, Jerry Wayne Weaver.
Mrs. Lee was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late William Willis and Lula Belle Weaver Shropshire, was retired from Burlington Mills in Shannon, GA, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and pets and was of the Baptist faith. She was lovingly referred to by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Mama Peggy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Humane Society.
