As the result of an investigation into a home invasion and the death of a woman during that incident, which occurred February 25th, in the Kilpatrick community of DeKalb County – 33 year old Santos Mendez Ambrocio has been charged with the murder of his wife – Francisca Reynoso Perez.

According to a news release, issued by DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris on Wednesday –  Ambrocio has been in jail since the date of the murder, charged with possession of a forged instrument and obstructing justice – and since that time, DeKalb County Investigators, with assistance of the Ft Payne Police Department, FBI and District Attorney’s Office – continued to gather evidence, which eventually led to the arrest of Santos on the charge of murder.

A possible motive was not mentioned in that news release, and no additional information is being released at this time.

Santos is being held in the DeKalb County Detention on a $500,000 cash bond.
