Centre Firefighters and Cherokee Electric crews, were dispatched Tuesday afternoon about 5:30 to Dean Buttram, Sr. Avenue, where lines and a power pole had caught fire.
Maintenance workers at Cherokee Health & Rehab discovered that fire and quickly placed a call to 9-1-1; portions of the surrounding area were left without power for a short period of time due to extensive damage being done to both the pole and the lines.
What started the fire has yet to be determined.
