Two Airlifted Following Single-Vehicle Accident on Highway 411 South / UPDATED

Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover occurring just after 11:30am Monday in Cherokee County.

Early reports are that two people – a male and a female – had to be air-lifted following that accident, which took place on Highway 411 at County Road 309; eyewitnesses said that the vehicle flipped multiple times; both victims were transported from the scene of the crash to the FEMA Building at Leesburg, with the female being flown to UAB for treatment.

The male was also flown out however we had no indication as to where he was being taken.

According to that Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, the driver of the 2005 Ford was listed as Michael Ratliff and the passenger as Linda Ratliff both age 67 and both of Cummings, Georgia.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.

A Cherokee County resident was also injured in a single-vehicle accident that evening.

According to accident reports that wreck took place in Gaylesville around 7:00pm involving a 2011 Ford being driven by 47 year old Bryan Tallent of Gaylesville.

No information regarding his condition was noted on the report.
