The Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 441 College Street in Centre just after 1:00am Thursday.

The initial 9-1-1 call was from the alarm company, who informed dispatchers that they had contacted the homeowner in response to the alarm, and the homeowner confirmed that the house was indeed on fire.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found that fire in a bedroom, quickly bringing it under control.

Early indications are that an electric blanket caught fire.

Fortunately, no one was injured.
