Over 50 boats took to the waters of Weiss Lake this Friday and Saturday for the 2016 Crappie USA Tournament held in Leesburg.
Anglers were competing for not only the $10,000.00 in cash and prizes, but a chance to advance to the prestigious Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic. This year’s classic will be held October 27 – 29, 2016 on Kentucky & Barkley Lakes at Paris, Tennessee.
In the Amateur Division, the team of Oscar and Knox Wilson of Centre took the top prize with the total two day weight of 20.25lbs, in the Pro Division it was the Tiptonville, Tennessee team of Steve Coleman and Ronnie Capps with a combined two day total weight of 23.42lbs.
The weekends Big Fish prize went to the team of Jud Westbrook of Trion, Georgia and Jeff Ingram of Centre.
