Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire just after 8:00 p.m. Friday night at a residence on Bay Springs Road behind the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center.

Units from the Centre, Cedar Bluff & Leesburg Departments arrived on the scene and were quickly able to extinguish the fire which started at the rear of the home near the back porch area.

No one was at home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Centre Police and Cherokee Electric Crews also responded to the scene, the exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
