Georgia Man Wakes Up to Drug Charges in Gadsden

Casey KerrPolice state a Georgia man napping in the parking lot of a Gadsden motel was arrested after officers found 32 grams of methamphetamine in his possession.

Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit Commander Randall Johnson states that 44 year old Casey Kerr of Cedartown, Georgia has been charged with drug trafficking.

Johnson said a Gadsden Police Officer on patrol during the early morning hours of Tuesday (March 1st), found Kerr asleep in a Mercury Mountaineer in the parking lot, of Gadsden Inn and Suites.

Once he was awakened police found around 32 grams of methamphetamine in Kerr’s pants pocket. They also found digital scales, baggies and glass pipes inside his vehicle.

When arrested, Kerr was wearing an ankle monitor – as he was on probation out of Georgia, for receiving stolen property.

He remains in the Etowah County Detention Center on bond of $50,000 and may face more charges.
