A 61 year old man has died from smoke inhalation due to a house fire occurring in the 1000 block of South 11th Street Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to the location just before 6:30pm; Etowah County Coroner Michael Head said Tommie Curtis Blake was the only person inside the home at the time of the fire.
Blake later died at Riverview Regional Medical Center. It appears that the fire started in the kitchen on the stove and Blake was trapped in the bedroom.
