The annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway is set for this Wednesday (February 24th) – on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre. The Alabama Forestry Commission and Cherokee County Forestry Planning Committee, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting that event from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm or until the last tree is gone.

Simply drive around to the rear of the college outside the arena area, where the line will form.

You are encouraged to arrive early!

This year’s trees will include a variety of yard, shade and wildlife trees and its suggested that you bring along a garbage bag, as those trees may be damp or dirty.

This year’s event is being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, City of Centre and Cherokee County Commission, Assistance during the event provided by the Cherokee Rose Garden Club.
