The Annual “Crappie Rodeo” Returns to Weiss Lake February 15th

Crappie 105The Weiss Lake Crappie Rodeo returns to Cherokee County next Monday, offering anglers a thousand chances to win with individual prizes ranging anywhere from $50 to $1,000.

The annual event attracts fishermen and their family members from across the country and it gets bigger and better every year.

Carolyn Landrem and Bob Pickerel, with the Weiss Lake Improvement Association, stopped by the WEIS Radio studios this week to talk about this year’s Crappie Rodeo:

We can’t stress this strongly enough – buy your Crappie Rodeo Badge before you go fishing!

One of last year’s competitors failed to do so – and well, you can probably guess the rest – he caught a $1,000 fish – which, without the badge, was barely even dinner.

The annual “Crappie Rodeo” is certainly one of the most high-profile events associated with the Weiss Lake Improvement Association, but that’s certainly not all they do.
