Mr. Johnny Mac Walker

Mr. Johnny Mac Walker age 84 of Centre passed away Thursday January 14th at Cherokee Village.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday January 16th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Rorie and Rev. Adam Cochran officiating, burial will follow in Howell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 2 PM Saturday.

Pallbearers include Mike Walker, Gene Walker, Steve Walker, Kenny Walker, Whitt Walker, Scott Walker, Danny Walker and Johnny Ray Walker. Honorary Pallbearers include David “Skip” Wright and Huston Walker, Honor Guard Members of American Legion ShanklinAttaway Post 5, Gene Gilreath, Damon York, Chaney Clements.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Charlene Walker, sons, Larry (Cathi) Walker of Centre and Jerry (Melissa) Walker of Leesburg; daughters, Judy (Lynn) Bowles of Rome, Ga. and Mary (Jackie) Givens of Centre; brother, Huston Walker of Centre; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; lifetime friend, Skip Wright; special friends, Jo Stamps and Linda Forsyth; special caregiver, Barbara Garmon; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Walker was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late William and Bessie McKnight Walker and was an Army Veteran. Mr. Walker was a retired automotive instructor, was Commander of the American Legion SkanklinAttawayPost 5 of Rome, Ga. and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Van Fund for Missions.
