Mr. Joseph Paul Johnson, age 95 of Sand Rock, passed away Thursday December 31st at Cherokee Village.
Funeral services will be held 1PM Saturday, January 2nd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11AM until 1PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his son, Charles Blake (Patti) Johnson of Townsend, TN; sister, Dorothy Miller of Centre; granddaughter, Ellen Johnson (Mitch) McGill of Lumberton, NC
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Shirley and Dollie Nance Johnson. He had a lengthy career as an educator in both Alabama and Florida, affecting many lives through the years. Mr. Johnson was the first mayor of Sand Rock and he was a member of Sand Rock United Methodist Church.
