Eleven people including a newborn were rescued from their home on Cherokee County Road 70 just off of County Road 36 on Friday night by the Cherokee County Rescue Squad.
Flood waters over took the home which sits on the creek bank – Heavy rains throughout the day Friday led to many flooding situations and washouts of roads throughout Northeast Alabama, and it is expected that water levels of creeks and rivers will continue to rise into Saturday.
Fortunately no one was injured, the incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. a gofundme page has been set up to assist the family.
