A fire Patti Ford’s Photography Studio on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre caused major damage to the building on Thursday evening.
Centre Police Officers and firefighters with the Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg Fire Departments arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke billowing from the building.
Members of the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit as well as Cherokee County Fire/Arson Investigator Shawn Rogers were called to the scene in addition to Centre Police Investigators.
According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship a person of interest is in custody at the Cherokee County Detention Center in connection with the incident.
At this time no further information is being released, the incident is under investigation by the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit and additional information is expected to be released in the coming days.
