Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Stolen Vehicles; Makes Several Arrests

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, over the past few days a number of stolen vehicles were recovered, several drug arrests were made, burglary suspects were arrested, and an arson case dating back to 2013 was solved,

A total of three stolen vehicles were recovered last week; Wednesday, a vehicle stolen from Piedmont was recovered north of Centre. On Thursday, Leesburg Police and Sheriff’s Office investigators recovered a stolen truck in the Sand Rock area; investigators also recovered a stolen jeep in Paulding County, Georgia.  That jeep had been stolen the previous day, from a residence in the Spring Garden community.

Investigators arrested 51 year old Jeffery Lynn Jordan of Centre, last Wednesday on Second Degree Arson Charges.  Jordan is accused of burning a residence in the Hebron community, in late 2013.

Three suspects were arrested by Sheriff’s Office Investigators in connection with a burglary and theft that recently occurred in the Newberry Crossroads community; 44 year old James Carl Reynolds of Centre was charged with Third Degree Burglary and the Theft of Property First Degree – meanwhile 39 year old  Kerren W. Sexton of Glencoe, and Randy Hugh Daniel, age 59, of Athens, were also charged with Third Degree Burglary.

Jordan, Daniel, Sexton and Reynolds all remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
