Albertville Police Officer And His Wife Arrested For Domestic Violence

RebeccaAtwell Etowah County officials arrested an Albertville police officer and his wife Saturday on domestic violence charges.

David Atwell and his wife Rebecca were arrested and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center Saturday afternoon.

Bond has been set at $1,000 each.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said deputies have responded to calls to the Atwell residence “during the last several days,” however officials did not go into further detail surrounding Saturday’s arrest.

Albertville Police Chief Doug Pollard confirmed he was notified about the arrest Saturday by Etowah County authorities. Pollard said he will be speaking with David Atwell on Sunday. Atwell has been a veteran of the Albertville Police Department for nearly 10 years.
