According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver Cherokee County deputies and investigators had executed a search warrant in the Mud Creek community on Wednesday, which resulted in the arrest of 44 year Mark Anthony Babb of Silver Creek, Georgia.

Investigators received information that Babb was in possession of methamphetamine at a residence on County Road 803.

  After a short investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed.

Investigators seized approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine.  Babb is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver expressed his appreciation to the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force for their assistance in the case, adding that he greatly appreciates the cooperation between Georgia law enforcement and local Sheriff’s Office investigators.
