Earlier this week WEIS Radio News was contacted by listener Gayle Johnson reporting that a large sink hold had appeared in a friend’s front yard, on 68, just outside of Gaylesville.
We took the short drive to the location and spoke with Sheila Canada:
Afterwards – we spoke with County Engineer Corey Chambers – who estimated the depth of the sinkhole at approximately 12 feet.
Fortunately the sink hole is far enough away from the home that it really poses no danger if it does at some point increase in size.
