Cherokee County Teams Win Big in Round One

Round one of the Alabama high school football playoffs kicked off last night

Class 1A, No. 4 Cedar Bluff rolled to a 47 – 26 victory over Ragland,   Next Friday, the Tigers will host 10th ranked Hackleburg at L.D. Bruce Field in round 2.

At the Field of Champions in Piedmont the 3rd ranked Bulldogs recorded their 4th shutout of the season as they blanked the Lexington Gold Bears 34-0.  Piedmont will entertain Oakman in round two.

Class 4A Cherokee County outdistanced Deshler by a final count of 45 to 26.  The Warriors must travel again in round 2 as Hamilton upset Priceville.  Hamilton  will enter the contest next Friday evening with an overall record of 5-6 while Cherokee County has won seven of their eight last contests and currently sport an overall mark of 7-4.

Tonight, Collinsville, Spring Garden and Fort Payne get their turn.  Class 2A Collinsville is at No. 7 Randolph County while Gaston makes the road trip to No. 9 Ranburne and Class 6A Fort Payne entertains Briarwood Christian.
