An Anniston doctor, has recently been indicted by a Calhoun County grand jury, on a charge of Criminally Negligent Homicide in connection with the death of his wife.
65 year old Frederick Leigh Hemphill, stands accused of withholding medical treatment, for his wife in the February 19th death of Ginger Lynn McEwan Hemphill.
She died at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
Hemphill has reportedly practiced medicine for some 40 years and was listed as working at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center according to on-line sources.
He was arrested October 19th (2014) and later released on a $5,000 bond. Arraignment is set for November 12th (2015).
No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding that case, has yet been released.
