One person was injured in a single vehicle accident on Highway 273 just North of County Road 75 near Blanche on Friday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 9:00 after the passenger of the vehicle called 9-1-1 reporting the vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree.

Paramedics at the scene quickly called for law enforcement after they learned that the driver had fled the scene on foot possibly intoxicated.

The passenger was transported to a Rome area hospital for treatment, we’ll have additional information as Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident reports are released.
